About Us
Hood Companies, Inc. (“Hood”) was originally founded in 1978 by Warren A. Hood, Jr. and is headquartered in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Hood is a privately held holding company that oversees a diversified group of North American manufacturers, primarily in the residential roofing, commercial insulation, forest products and packaging industries.
Hood is committed to sustainable growth through long-term investment in its manufacturing companies. Hood’s focus on operational excellence and reinvestment in its manufacturing businesses fuels innovation, creates jobs, strengthens communities, and helps to keep our economy resilient and growing. Hood’s four main operating subsidiaries are described below.
Atlas Roofing Corporation
Atlas Roofing Corporation was organized in April 1982 and manufactures residential roofing products, polyiso insulation panels, block and shape molded EPS and other construction related products.
Hood Industries, Inc.
Hood Industries, Inc. was organized in March 1983 and manufactures southern yellow pine lumber, veneers, and plywood panels. Hood Industries is also involved in the sale and distribution of specialty (hardwood) lumber and plywood panels, millwork products and cabinetry trades.
Hood Packaging Corporation
Hood Packaging Corporation was organized in October 1978 and manufactures multiwall paper bags, industrial plastic packaging, woven poly packaging, and other flexible packaging products.
Hood Container Corporation
Hood Container Corporation was organized in May 2012 and manufactures corrugated medium, Kraft linerboard, and Kraft paper at mills located in Louisiana and Tennessee. They also manufacture packaging products that include corrugated boxes, cartons and containers, graphic displays, point of purchase assemblies and other retail packaging. Hood Container also provides contract packaging, fulfillment, and warehousing services.
